my day in OT

our day 1 at our side was purely orientation. i like it there at recovery room but that was about all. everywhere was so cold. i think i am the only 1 that isn't too thrill with the posting. BORING!

day 2- in the general surgery OR but ended up seeing 1 major case that was all. when i left at 4, the last procedure had just started. the entire case had at least 3 scrub taking turns! i was the extra, hanging around. staff was so busy and i am so shy to ask. so not much communication. =( plus the room had already 2 juniors. anyway think about it this way, we are not the perm. staff there and we are only there for 1 week, why bother to teach us so much? wasting their own time only, right? that's why if i am the SN, i think i will not be very bothered.

basically the nurses in OT don't talk much to the doctors. and they talk really softy! wonder is it me or the people there. the client is down already what, why still need to whisper?

my verdict for the posting even before it end is... i will not opt to go to OT. standing there scrubbing for the case, is so boring! and circulating is just as bad. the only excitment comes when packing the gauze and seeing the raw flesh. but after seeing it for at least 2 hours, it become real numb sia. the smell of the flesh burning is stinko too! i rather smell poo poo...haha...

worst of all is that we need to do a presentation at the end of it. and the CI said we will be graded by it and if you want to have extra-ordinary marks then must present something that is not the norm. eg-what drug was used lar, why leh, etc, etc. i told spade that i am not going to try get A* (cuz i am not A* standard) so i will just present the norm.

saw other students at the lobby after 4pm, they were like so thrilled and asked me how was my case, got to scrub or not, sister/SN nice or not, blah blah blah... i gave them the sian look... tot of saying something nasty like "yah, if it was you on the table i sure will scrub for your case one lar. aiyo... the staff are love me so much and i am enjoying myself! so fun... why you cannot to scrub at your end? so poor thing..." *puke* of cuz as K's hubby said i very plastic one mah... so never say such thing lor.

reshuffle...yes or no?

i will be very open with everyone. i never had a good impression of the uncle banana. maybe its his mannerism or whatever lar. i never attempt to make contact with him, one on one, before and don't think i will ever do that. he likewise had never done that. understandable as he thinks i am very stubborn. haha... (maybe to him only?!)

uncle banana called me just now and asked me if i am in favor of reshuffling! i told him that i was the one that started it but now i am not leaving for anything already. then came the big question... (in the direct qoute) "XX you can be frank with me. Are you comfortable working with me?" as normal, i am alittle dumb and frank so i said "err..No" haha... salute myself for that! then uncle banana went "ok, i accept it. its ok. thanks."

i wonder if uncle banana is forming his own group!! haha... too bad... there are so many people not wanting to working with him... oh... he also ask me something like "i believe you have some people you don't want to work as well, right?" my answer... "Ya"
